The great depression of the 1930s is still a powerful memory in the minds of many people. As a result, the present economic situation scared the majority of the people who have directly or indirectly felt the negative effects of the Great Depression. These two episodes are similar to some extent, but we have to admit that there are some aspects that haven’t been present during the economic downturn of the 20th Century. Thus, it is important that we only adopt those measures from the past that might work for the current situation.

One important factor that contributed to the re-balance of the economic situation back in the 30s was the fact that people were willing to change their lifestyles in order to save money and cover their debts. This is a good example that we can follow these days as the current economic recession was determined primarily by the numerous credits that have been registered. If you want to purchase something, you better wait until you raise all the money you need; don’t get a credit unless it is really necessary.

The second measure that helped in the 1930s was the fact that people oriented themselves towards do-it-yourself activities. Nowadays, we have forgotten how inspiring and satisfying it is to create our own food, clothes or even furniture, so there is a lot of money that people waste on products and services that they can very well do themselves. Unleash your hidden talents and you’ll see that you will be able to produce products that are just as good as the ones on the market, yet much more affordable and resistant.

Being a wary consumer will enable you to use less money on food and other commodities. As a matter of fact, during the Great Depression people would reuse materials and objects to create new items. Thus, you should not throw your old clothes or your electrical devices on the window; take the functioning parts and create new objects instead.

Finally, the economic recession is a period of investments, even though this may seem strange to you. As experts have noticed during previous economic downfalls, it is very convenient to invest your money in tangible products that are very likely to become more expensive after the recession. Such is the case of the gold and the oil market which are likely to register an amazing increase in the years to come.

It is no big secret that people often go to the internet when they are looking for something – be it regular information or details on particular products and services which they need. Many people have made the internet a key purchasing tool that they rely on to provide them the information they need to satisfy an issue or concern. Specific websites therefore have become primary places for many buyers to go to when looking for their particular services or products online.

Online printing is one prime example that the internet has made very popular. When a business needed printing services, the business owners often go online and look for both an online and traditional printing company that can provide them with the quality they are looking for, and at the same time, at the price they can afford. The existence of websites therefore has a critical role to play in drawing sales for any business. It is therefore safe to assume that the internet has truly made it possible for many businesses to thrive when they are able to drive traffic to their website every time people are looking for their kind of product or service.

It is therefore no surprise that for a business to become legitimate in the perception of the consumers, one has to have a website to communicate with their target clients.

A website is crucial in driving sales for the business. Through the websites, consumers are often found to act on offers whether they are made online or offline. True enough, a website made it possible for many businesses to increase their sales every time a potential client go online for their specific need or want.

However, there are still many missed opportunities to sell despite the growth of online browsers. Many websites have yet to optimize their opportunities because they don’t have what the prospective customer is looking for.

So if you have a website, and you think that it’s not working the way you planned, here then are some of the things you can do to revamp your website. By following these suggestions, you might find yourself getting many customers to visit your site, as well as get them to act on your offer every time they go to your website.

First of all, when a potential buyer goes online, there are certain expectations they look for in a website. As a business owner, you need to take heed of these expectations so you can provide your visitors with what they are looking for. This means providing your visitors with information they need every time they go to your website. The information would often include features and descriptions of your products and services, pricing, the applications, as well as details on technical support and other additional services.

Your target clients would also look for convenience and speed while searching for the information they are looking for. This means that they should be able to open every page quickly, download graphics and information as fast as they can, and be able to compare products and services in a very easy manner. In short, they should be able to take the necessary actions that are needed to get what they want from your website. So be it submitting an order, making recommendations, or even to simply search for more details – everything should be done as quickly as possible that your target clients would not want to go to another website to get what they want.

Finally, your website should be able to provide your target clients with the opportunity to search, verify, evaluate and take action on the information they got from you. Once they find out that your website can provide them the convenience and the necessary tools to help them to get what they need, you are therefore increasing the overall effectiveness of your website to turn ordinary visitors to actual buyers of your products and services.

There are certain things that will kill production. These are the things that will cost you money and eventually shut you down. They are the major wastes that you will want to identify and eliminate as quickly and effectively as possible.

There are two broad categories when it comes to waste within a business or organization. The first is true waste which costs money when it should not. The others are wastes that can not necessarily be eliminated, because even if the waste does not relate directly in the production, your company needs it to functional. These are typically office and corporate waste. This waste is as equally important as the cost of outgoing products and can call ruin your business the same as a production problem.

Often, even if these tasks are not necessarily related, they do influence each other. The accounting, and processing of payments for products and materials can directly influence the production requirements for a particular part of your business. In addition, if the paperwork is not processed correctly, delivery of products may directly affect accounts payable.

All the sections of the business are reliant on each other for the company to run smoothly and if they are not on the same page, at least most of the time, then the headaches of communication or lack thereof will only get worse. That is why it is very important to look for solutions to problems that affect everybody and not just point fingers and blame the other departments when there is a problem. It is also why communication between the departments is very important. Because without communication, everything is just a little bit more difficult. It also means that each department is only out for themselves and that whatever processes and directives they initiate will only help them.

Why should a department change a rule or a process that will make something more difficult or more complex for another department without at least communicating with other departments for their ideas? It should not work that way, but it often does, and it builds mistrust and resentment between departments. This is an ideal time to try and communicate, instead of just changing something, get opinions and ideas of the people that the change will affect directly and indirectly. It will make life easier in the long term and other departments are then also more likely to warn you of any impending change in their departments.

The separate collection of waste creates business opportunities for entrepreneurs in Brazil. One of the world’s biggest problems today is that the waste generated is of such size and magnitude that there is no time to absorb it. But a company in São Paulo is making a difference when it bases its entire production of a material use and throws away every day: bottles or PET bottles.

Ephemeral use we give to them, does not compare with the number of years required for the degradation of that material itself. In large cities it can collect more than 2700/day. And I think that is little compared to what is generated daily. The truth is that several companies in the Greater São Paulo, base their production from recycled PET bottles.

A graphics company Sorocaba, a town located in the area, produces material ranging from plastic cover for notebooks, to bind sheets, pens, cards and laminated cards for credit cards, geometry games (rules, set squares, compasses) to plate’s traffic signal.

Production is doubling every two years. What has contributed to increased turnover? The investment for this type of business was about 400 thousand pieces, and through trial and error came up with the niche and the products that have now contributed to a worldwide pioneer in this type of product.

The bottles are collected by people who until recently lived waste from restaurants, have been organized into cooperatives and collect recyclable materials ranging from paper, plastic, cardboard and of course the bottles. These are stored, sorted by weight and color, are compressed on a press, although it is a very light material and then take up much volume is sold to companies that process.

These in turn put out a finished product in the form of foil that is sold to the factory in question. The most important and significant aspect of this process is that it is creating a movement that not only is contributing to the life of landfills.

We’re giving a hand to the planet, saving energy is cheaper because it is processing this material instead of acrylic and on the other hand the community of entrepreneurs and consumers has reacted very positively.

Very attractive and lucrative business, Interested?

What is PET? Poly (Ethylene Terephthalate) is a polyester thermoplastic polymer. It is the best and toughest in the manufacture of plastic bottles or jugs for water, juice, soda, oil and many more. They are 100% recyclable and its chemical composition does not release any toxic product.

  3. What should you highlight about your business? What are you an expert on?
  4. What’s your history as a business?
  5. Can you really compete with the rest of the businesses already in the market?
  6. Who is your competition? What’s their edge over you?

  8. What would be your benefits? How can you make your business more interesting and exciting in the eyes of your prospective clients?
  9. How do they want to respond to your marketing collaterals? More importantly, what types of marketing materials do they find interesting?

  1. What does your prospect look for? What do they need and want? Where would you be able to get more profits?
  2. How can you improve on what is already out there? For print posters for example, how can you make yours more interesting and effective generators of clients?
  3. How can you compete? How can your competition stop you from gaining success?
  4. How can you gain customers? How can you lose them?
  5. What should you do so your product offer doesn’t become outdated and outmoded?
  6. What are the trends in marketing that can affect your small business?
  7. What new ideas can you get from your research? Who can help you implement your ideas?
