The separate collection of waste creates business opportunities for entrepreneurs in Brazil. One of the world’s biggest problems today is that the waste generated is of such size and magnitude that there is no time to absorb it. But a company in São Paulo is making a difference when it bases its entire production of a material use and throws away every day: bottles or PET bottles.

And I think that is little compared to what is generated daily. The truth is that several companies in the Greater São Paulo, base their production from recycled PET bottles.
A graphics company Sorocaba, a town located in the area, produces material ranging from plastic cover for notebooks, to bind sheets, pens, cards and laminated cards for credit cards, geometry games (rules, set squares, compasses) to plate’s traffic signal.
Production is doubling every two years. What has contributed to increased turnover? The investment for this type of business was about 400 thousand pieces, and through trial and error came up with the niche and the products that have now contributed to a worldwide pioneer in this type of product.
The bottles are collected by people who until recently lived waste from restaurants, have been organized into cooperatives and collect recyclable materials ranging from paper, plastic, cardboard and of course the bottles. These are stored, sorted by weight and color, are compressed on a press, although it is a very light material and then take up much volume is sold to companies that process.
These in turn put out a finished product in the form of foil that is sold to the factory in question. The most important and significant aspect of this process is that it is creating a movement that not only is contributing to the life of landfills.
We’re giving a hand to the planet, saving energy is cheaper because it is processing this material instead of acrylic and on the other hand the community of entrepreneurs and consumers has reacted very positively.
